Add Products

Products can be added to sku.io in various ways.

Product Types

• Standard: an item with a unique SKU
  Bundle: A combination of Standard products, when combined they are also known as kits and can have a unique price. Bundles do have stock, they need to be assembled prior to being sold. When sold, it discounts all of the items that are part of it.
  • Bundle product: Back-to-School kit
  • Standard products: 1 x backpack, 3 x notebooks, 2 x pens
• Matrix: Parent virtual record of Standard products that are variants. Matrix products have no stock.
  • Matrix product: Concert tour T-Shirt
  • Standard products: Concert tour T-Shirt S, Concert tour T-Shirt M, Concert tour T-Shirt L
• Blemished: Created when the item is returned and needs to be a new SKU. It would be created from a Sales Credit or from the Inventory Actions within a Standard Product.

Create a new single Product

From the Product Data Table

1. Select New Product

2. SKU, name, and product type are required

Add Products in bulk

Within the Product Data Table, select Import CSV from the Table Actions

1. Drag and drop a file, or select from your computer
2. Verify file that the fields are mapped correctly. If they don't match, select Map Fields and map the columns.
3. Confirm Import

Ease the import by exporting a file with the desired columns (Configure Data Tables)

To create new products, the id in the file should be blank. If the id exists, it will update the existing product.

Via Sales Channel Listings

Easily create products in sku.io through any linked Sales Channel. 

The Sales Channel should be set up prior to importing the listings. Go to Sales Channel

Within the Sales Channel, access Listings > Mapping

Map Sales Channel fields to sku.io fields via Sku Mapping

Map the Sales Channel fields to fields in SKU and Save, attributes to map need to be created previously. Go to Attributes 

1. Select listings to add to sku.io

2. Via Bulk Action choose Create Sku Products or right-click to access this option and Save.

   • Review or update the mapping 

     
     

   • First value will be the SKU, select the edit pencil to modify the SKU (i.e. to add a prefix). Map other values to the correct fields. The mapping generated will be saved for future products from the same Sales Channel.  

     If mapping an instance from Shopify, map the Shopify product type to sku.io Category.
